My Travels in the Navy

Radar School

I spent 165 days there

When I went into the Navy I went to Radar School in San Francisco for 16 weeks. But like normal I had a problem with my records and I had to wait for 2 months till my records were finally in order, so I spent over 24 weeks in San Francisco instead of the 16 weeks I should have been there.

Subic Bay

The Ship I was on, the USS Tulare LKA-112 was in and out of Subic Bay from November 1970 through April 1971. While overseas I was in Viet Nam six times and Subic Bay was like a home away from home.

Equator

I don't know why I took this picture of the equator in the middle of the ocean but I did. It wasn't even a very good picture, which makes it even worse.

Manila, Philippines

I spent 5 days there.

I was there with our whole squadron while on training maneuvers. It was a large city and actually the parts I was in were pretty clean. I didn't get any photos of Manila sorry to say.
